Dear Oprah Show,

Tonight a young girl tried to commit suicide in Kent, Washington. She was deeply depressed and told everyone on her blog that she was going to kill herself. She begged everyone not to call the police. She then said goodbye to everyone a few minutes later.

This event sparked something so big that most wouldn’t even believe it. In a collaborative effort, the tumblr(a social networking site) community found out her address and called the police in her area. They received over 50 phone calls from people all over the country urging the police to go to her house. They got there just in time to get her to the hospital. She had cut her wrists. One girl on tumblr called the hospital for the next few hours to get updates. She is now okay and will be in the hospital for probably a few days.

I think this shows the compassion of the human race. All these people were almost complete strangers to her, but they came to her rescue anyway. Now a young girl is safe and will live many more years.
